I am thinking of buying some cuffs of some sort. Not really into serious bondage or anything but recent experiment with one pair of handcuffs and some scarves was rather fun. We joke that what we do is 'bondage-lite'. Don't know if people will have seen Japanese rope work but it appears a real artform - Sort of human macrame.

'Vanilla' is term used by kinks to describe non-kinks. Like all so-called communities, of course there is not consensus!
I like term as I think vanilla is lovely and subtle flavour and if one has few choices it's popular and likeable by most. Me liking pistacchio ice-cream isn't reflection on vanilla - just on my taste.
Of course those that think of vanilla as bland or non-flavour see it as more judgemental. Kinks and non-kinks object to the label - as some people object to many/most/all labels.
For me calling non-kinks vanilla is like gays calling me straight - An easy shorthand and innoffensive, but as an equal opps type kink I try to reflect other views...

Should I be worried? Does this mean less spiders will find me?

I was reading a rather good 'chicklit' type novel which included a passing reference to 'S&M' and I immediately thought character and author were not into it because of the ampersand. I think I read somewhere that S&M is more likely to be terminology of non-practitioners as those interested are more likely to say SM and I've found this to be true.
